Smoke from wildfires shrouded the south coast and Vancouver Island in late summer of 2020. Heat domes, fires and drought worsened every year, but it was 2020 that the impact of those fires really came home. 'Smoke on the Water' was inspired by the feelings of impending doom brought on by heavy smoke. And yet...children play joyfully in the surf at Long Beach.
