Inspiration:
Breathe Into Me explores the ephemeral nature of air and memory through the act of smoking. The piece captures 35 recalled stories, shaping breath into a transient movement of air, emphasizing the atmosphere as both a physical and symbolic space where our experiences are suspended and fleeting.

By framing smoke as gesture and inscription, the work engages with themes of impermanence, ritual, and the body’s interaction with the environment. The act of smoking—once a social ritual, now a transgressive act—becomes a means of marking presence, leaving an imprint in the atmosphere even as it disappears. Each curl of smoke represents the intersection of memory and breath, reflecting how something intangible carries the weight of personal histories.

A meditation on the seen and unseen, Breathe Into Me considers how our place in the atmosphere is marked by the ephemeral traces of our lived moments.
